A tabletop camera automatically recognizes QR-coded electronic mahjong tiles in real time. By matching tile IDs with their positions, the system digitally records the state of play. Making the tiles themselves digital enables automatic game recording, new visual effects, and other unprecedented mahjong experiences in a next-generation system.

The name combines “re” and “tile”: the images displayed on the tiles can be rewritten as often as you like.
